Konami showed off a teasing look at the highly anticipated Lords of Shadows sequel at their pre-E3 press conference – and boy does it look set to blow our socks off.
The trailer was made up entirely of CG and followed an emaciated Gabriel, prowling through his throne room, proceeding out onto a stone terrace atop his huge castle as legions of armour-clad soldiers approach.
Whilst the trailer didn't show any gameplay, the CG hinted at the direction the gameplay would be going from both a story and combat perspective. As Gabriel leaps into the fray it seems apparent that the combat cross won't be used by him anymore however, he seems to possess something similar with a magical, red emblazoned whip extending from his hand which he can use to take out his foes.
There's also a new special move system hinted at giving Gabriel the power to consume the blood of his enemies, which then allow him to transform into (in the case of the trailer) a giant dragon made up of smoke and fire, this seems reminiscent of the soul consuming power Soma Cruz used in the DS Castlevania titles.Oh did we mention a man representing what looks to be Alucard appears at the end? Lords of Shadow 2 has us pretty excited, here's hoping it will be available to play on the show floor.
